ABOUT JENNA
My story: I grew up in the woods of Western Massachusetts, enjoying swaths of free time which I, along with my twin sister, filled with exploration and imaginative play.
Midwives helped my teen mom give birth to us twins naturally, so the term and role was always familiar to me. Inspired by a chat with a friend about the role of childrearing not being valued in mainstream culture, I began studying birth in 2007. After working as a doula for several years, I attended midwifery school, which included international training and volunteer experience.
I practiced as a licensed midwife for Santa Barbara Midwifery and Birth Center for eight years, during which time, I got married, gave birth to my son, lost my husband in a flying accident, and learned a vast depth and breadth of things about life, death, and myself.
I recently stepped away from clinical care to focus more on my own healing, as well as to offer new and expectant parents a unique perspective of practical and spiritual information.
Using my life experience and training as a midwife, a Reiki Master, a widow, and a Certified Practitioner of the Seven Cups of Consciousness, I will accompany you through your pregnancy and parenting journey, providing a source of compassion, confidence, and unique guidance, so you can settle in to what is most important to you, and parent from your heart.

Why “Agape” ?
The classical definition of the Greek word “agape (agapē)” is the unconditional love of God for man. The highest form of love.
As a word nerd, I loved the sound of “agape” the instant my mother told me that she learned it in a Greek class she took with my father before I was born. Whether you see the Higher Power as God in the many names, The Universe, Spirit, Nature, or an Energy that resides within, I believe we are all capable of feeling and exchanging divine love and acceptance.
I also smile at the fact that agape can also be read as “uh-geyp,” as in the mouth falling agape in wonder at the splendor of life.
If that doesn’t sum up parenting, I don’t know what does! The highest form of love that often leaves us with our mouth hanging open, for all sorts of reasons!
I’d love to guide you to find a more consistent connection to the feeling of divine love, so you can enjoy more moments in admiration of the brilliance that is this human life.
